หลักสูตรแพทย์ประจำบ้านสาขาพยาธิวิทยากายวิภาค

หลักสูตรแพทย์ประจำบ้านสาขาพยาธิวิทยากายวิภาค ใช้เวลาศึกษาทั้งสิ้น 36 เดือน (3 ปี) โดยในปีแรกแพทย์ประจำบ้านจะได้รับการศึกษาพยาธิวิทยาพื้นฐาน การตรวจสิ่งส่งตรวจด้วยตาเปล่า การวินิจฉัยทางพยาธิวิทยา การชันสูตรศพ นอกจากนี้ ยังจะได้รับการอบรมวิทยาศาสตร์การแพทย์พื้นฐานและคลินิกสัมพันธ์ ร่วมกับแพทย์ประจำบ้านสาขาอื่นๆ ในสังกัดกรมการแพทย์ฯ ในชั้นปีที่ 2 และ ปีที่ 3 แพทย์ประจำบ้านจะได้รับการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับการตรวจสิ่งส่งตรวจด้วยตาเปล่าที่ซับซ้อนมากขึ้น การวินิจฉัยทางพยาธิวิทยากายวิภาคเฉพาะทาง (subspecialty pathology) นอกจากนี้สถาบันฯ ยังจัดให้แพทย์ประจำบ้านได้ออกไปศึกษาเพิ่มเติมนอกสถาบันพยาธิวิทยา ทั้งในและต่างประเทศ แพทย์ประจำบ้าน จะได้รับการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับการชันสูตรศพ, เซลล์วิทยา, Frozen sections/ Intraoperative consultation ในทุกปีการศึกษา แพทย์ประจำบ้านจะต้องมีงานวิจัย ที่ตีพิมฑืเผยแพร่ อย่างน้อย 1 เรื่อง ก่อนสำเร็จการศึกษา

Curriculum

Our training only covers anatomical pathology in the span of 36 months. First year residents will mainly be focusing on basic sciences, gross pathology, and general concept of anatomical pathology though a mix of rotations throughout the year. The second year will be emphasized on each organ by rotating between subspecialties, both in our institute and affiliated medical schools. Third year residents will be responsible for supervising first year residents on daily pathology services, refining diagnosis skills, and undertake more challenging consultation cases. Autopsies, frozen sections, and cytology rotations will be spread throughout 3 years of the training. The residents will also have to complete one research publication to complete the program. Our goal is to deliver capable pathologists with necessary skills to independently practice in remote regional hospitals with confidence.
